WE'RE IN THE FINALS! (:

Yep, both TK Campcraft Girls and Boys teams are in the top 10 and are going for the finals next week. :D SO HAPPY! We're FINALLY there after 5 times of postponing and many many trials. Haha, we campcraft people can say that we have many trials in life.

Woken up by Jinyi's morning call at FIVE am (YES. forsaken five am) and ended up sitting outside the school like construction workers cause the gate was still close. Yea, we were THAT early okay. The girls did their trial in the dark and then got ready to go for the big thing. Over at HTA, the whole waiting thing went pretty smoothly, aside from being so amused by Sir Kelvyn touching the millipedes and Cynthia being able to smell insects' blood. Guess its cause we're like so mentally prepared.

I guess I can say I'm privileged to watch the prelims twice, one with the boys and one with the girls. Both were a total different experience cause well, the atmosphere was a hell load different. With the girls, it was so nerve-wrecking, especially with Shirley squeezing my hand so tight there was practically no more blood left there. But on the other hand, the guys were fooling around and crapping until the girls came out and well, it was pretty relaxed.

Anyhow, the girls did really really well. I'm really glad for them. (:
AND WE'LL BE BACK THERE NEXT WEEK!

After that was Youth.
Haven been for youth for quite some time due to trainings and well, it feels good to be back there with those bunch of friends. Its some how heartwarming to be with friends that you grew up with and knows your strengths and flaws but doesnt really mind at all.

Icebreaker was the cliche "Fire, Hunter, Earthquake" game but we're all sweaty and tired by the end of the game. Livewire! can make any game fun man, especially with all the kiasu people diving around for the spots. Rushed through lesson and went on to PHOTO SHOOT for TIMEOUT! event. (:

As usual, the Band pictures were the most elaborate of the 3 and well, I gotta say that Nicole, the photographer with her sexy SLR, was VERY VERY patient with us. I mean its not easy trying to get everyone together and making them pose and taking nice pictures. Plus, she had to climb up and down the marshland with us, going up and down slopes to get the best angles, retaking pictures when we're not satisfied with it and tolerating our nonsense like singing in the midst of the photo shoot (mainly timothy though).

Thanks alot NICOLE! ((:

Otherwise, I think the pictures are really really nice cause the scenery is simply breathtaking. God bless our church with such a nice scenery that we can even have our photo shoot at our doorstep. Thankfully for that, we only have to lug all our instruments there (yes, all the instruments) and not some God-forsaken part of the earth.
Sadly for me, we didnt have enough time to drag our stuff to the langlang area at the coast of punggol beach but its okay. Its really beautiful there lah. There were even bridal photo shoots going on while we had our own photo shoots. Thats how nice it is lah!

Uploading ALL the pictures will be crazy so I'll just upload some of the nicer ones yea?
Enjoy them, people.

ripped from Nicole

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Sunset today was B-E-A-utiful!

Its mid week already! YAY! Cant wait for Saturday. (:

Saturday will be hell tiring for me though. Have to wake up really early to meet at school before departing for HTA for girls' prelims at 9am. After which, its back to school then rushing home for a bath and out for youth again. PLUS... there's PHOTO SHOOT. :DDDD

I know i sound like a fanatic and mad person but for some reason, I'm really really looking forward for the Photo shoot. I was thinking about it today, along with some publicity stuff, and suddenly this crazy concept popped into my mind.

Our theme this year is "TIMEOUT!" and unlike last year's theme "Be Electrified!", its really vague. Initially I was thinking of a silhouette in a leaping action for the design of the invites then out of no where (literally), I thought of a runaway Cinderella.

Weird eh? But then I thought of the Cinderella story where she didn't have enough time to rush back to her house. And it SO links with our theme of TIMEOUT. So I had this crazy idea for the photo shoot. Of dressing up in some dress and carrying my electric guitar, being that runaway rock "Cinderella".

Far-fetched, I know. But what to do, my mind really wanders when I'm bored.

But honestly, I think its really cool lah! Also if the guys can play on other roles for the shoot like the catch me if you can poster. HAHA. COOL LEH.

I just love the Cinderella idea lah. So cool if really take okay. XD

I guess I'll just wait till Xp confirms our dress code for the band.
Till then, TATA!

Reality is like a slap on the face.
Life's reminder to you,
That things won't always be
Perfect.
It's like getting out of bed
On a freezing winter morning.
Or getting out of a hot shower
And stepping onto the cold floor.
Reality is even like solitaire.
Losing with only 0 points
After a 100 game winning streak.
Reality is being happy one minute,
Then finding pictures
That remind you of a love now lost.
Like wishing on a star
Only to realize it's a plane.
Reality is like a door.
Open wide one minute,
Then slammed shut in your face the next.
Reality is finding out
You can't live happily ever after
Forever.

I sometimes really wonder what exactly is 'reality'.

Reality TV doesnt exactly portray reality but the superficial. Students dont face reality, thinking that only a distinction is perfection. With the society's perception of reality is so warped with money and work, are we really living in reality?

Or is that reality?
If it is, it really hurts.

Haix, hello busy week.

Another tiring and trying day.

I think you guys are sick of hearing this as much as I do but... competition is postponed AGAIN.

This is like the 5th time I am saying it lah. We were all ready today, hyped and what not and already made it all the way to the waiting hall...

AND IT JUST HAD TO POUR.

Waited till 5.30 for it to clear but it was clearly impossible when this freaking bright lightning strike across the sky. It was so so near to us cause the thunder was practically immediately.

Disappointing okay. :'(
We were so ready.

So for now, our competition is postponed to NEXT SAT (29 March) at 9.00am. And I'm going to pray SO hard that it doesnt rain. Finals will then be on the 5th April, meaning that we'll miss our Flag Day once again.

There goes my CIP hours.

OH well, Ms Nani did say we should not complain and just deal with it. Not like the HQ can control the weather.

21/03; TGIF & SENTOSA!
Friday, March 21, 2008, 11:52 pm | 0 comments

Its the 21st again.
TGIF!

Good Friday has never been better when you have a day out with your 2 good girlfriends.

Of course, good friday is supposed to be recognizing the crucification of Jesus for our sins and I think last night's service was pretty good, especially the worship lead by the Youths, namely Michelle and Xiaowen. And you know, the main reason I went yesterday was actually because Kenneth was playing electric guitar. :3

Aiya, like how often do you get to see Kenneth play the electric guitar?

Anyhow, other than a few glitches here and there, it was pretty good. I have to say that Kenneth's intro for Hosanna is really nice, especially with the delay effects. (: Also, I think everyone really strained their voices to the max yesterday.

Now, back to my GREAT Friday.
Went out with Wenxin and Huimin to Sentosa to study and play abit. Despite my previous failed attempts to get rid of my obviously uneven tans, I was enthu to try again. Plus, since Singapore has SO little clean and decent beaches, we decided on Sentosa.

Apparently, at least another 1000+ people thought so too.

The number of people queuing up for the tickets was atrociously long. Imagine two times the length of a MRT. Thankfully Tabitha was going to Sentosa too and was already in the queue so we could get our tickets faster. Crazy CRAZY queues.

Not only getting the tickets for the monorail was crazy, the number of people there itself is just frightening. The beach was clearly overpopulated. The beach was dotted with people (especially darker ones) and even at the end of the beach which normally is deserted, it was FULL of people. So much for privacy today.

LOOK! So many people!! (spot the contrast!)

Anyhow, with the help of some Singaporean Kiasu-ness, we managed to secure a nice spot under the pathetic skinny palm tree (before another troop of kids got it. HA! NEH-NEH-NI-POO-POO!) Changing too was a problem as the toilets were packed (and stinky).

Otherwise, the day at the beach was really fun. Finished my homework and played around the beach for awhile. We were like the only ones studying at a beach. Sadly, we couldnt really tan cause mr. golden sun went to hide behind the clouds. :(

So much for my plan to get darker.

*SIGHS*

Took some really nice shots but I dont think I'll be posting all of them up here cause of privacy issues.
I like this pic! Huimin is SO cute!

After squeezing with the mad crowds up the monorail, traveled down to CityLink mall for Newyork!Their food was superb and their desert was YUM YUM though their portion for 4 is more likely for 6.

Their green apple cotton candy was so so cute and irresistible for Huimin that she just had to get two.

Tsk tsk. Act cute...

But what made us high was those sugared cherries on the dessert!
No wonder they labeled it as SUPER SINFUL.

Cause Huimin and I became little hyenas after that! We laughed and laughed and laughed. And laughed more. It had been a really really long time since I laughed SO much and my stomach muscles started to hurt. I laugh until no sound okay.

That was how sinful sugared cherries are.
Want to cheer me up? Get me sugared cherries.

Time flew while we were having fun and 2 hours easily passed. It was only till we noticed that the cafe was emptying that we tried calling for the bill. Notice how I used the word 'tried'?

Huimin tried calling for it but we ended up laughing. And Wenxin, upon seeing us crack up into fits of laughter, she herself started laughing. So there you have it, three little laughing monsters laughing at practically nothing. Amazing right?

I think the waiters and chefs there thought we were mental.

Dont worry though, cause we made it back in one piece, just with a lil stomach ache and a looser jaw from all that laughing.

Good Friday are not just good.
It is GREAT. (((:

Thanks Wenxin and Huimin.

Oh My GOSH!
TIME OUT! Photoshoot on the 29th!

*joan starts jumping around*

I AM SO EXCITED CAN?!!!
I have been waiting for THIS for like a year, well, at least since our last photoshoot which i was in charge of and its FINALLY here!

I think we're doing the photoshoot at the punggol beach with all those lalang-looking weeds, the sexy beach AND my darling! And of course with Nicole's professional cam. I think it'll be so super cool.

HAHA. My darling is like so handsome and cool, with hard body which is perfectly tanned and is really good at serenading me. Plus he is ALWAYS by my side whenever I need him and hardly ever disappoints me. (ALOT OF SKINSHIP MAN!)

But I'm kinda envious of Samuel's wife. She has really nice curves too.

Let me show you a picture of my hot darling and Samuel's wife.

HANDSOME RIGHT?
HAHA!

Last year's Be Electrified! Band photoshoot was like the more elaborate one. Took so many pictures along the road outside the church cause there were so many complains of bringing the instruments out but I think the pictures came out really cool. I cant imagine this year's. I think it will look like SO AWESOME. I'll be the first to kop all the pictures man!

*SIGHS* but guess what?
I wont be there on that day.
And its all thanks to campcraft. Finals just has to choose that beautiful date when I should be having the photoshoot with my darling at sunset!! >:(

GRRRR. Now Finals better be postponed to the 5th of April.

Haix. School today was so weird. It was like SO draggy, so much so that it felt like it was 3 school holidays days long. Felt so so so tired after Emaths that I just plopped on the table and dozed off even before Blinkie stepped out of class.

School's just so weird lah.
Campcraft was kinda weird too. Its like without the guys around, theres not much motivation for the girls.

*ahem* what are you thinking...

Their presence is important lah. Prelims is this week okay, like FINALLY after postponing it for a month. And it better NOT rain cause if not its going to be postponed to SUNDAY (according to Ms Nani).

If HQ is going to postpone it to Sunday, I'm so going to smack them left right sia!

On another note of randomness, Fatin told me something that I should do today. Now its to do or not to. HMMMMM.
Thats ALOT of consideration to do.

School holidays are over. ): I cant believe it can? It felt more like 3 days instead of a week to me. I still have my mountain of homework undone, no need to mention studying anything. Well, maybe I finished a few pieces of work when I was out with Yinglin for "studying" session but...

I AM SO NOT READY TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!

I am not ready to face the craziness studying shit when I get back to school. I bet every single teacher will talk about how we have only 4 weeks till mid years and how much more we have to cover blah blah blah. I dont want to be a no-social-life-and-fun mugger pot!!

Or should I say I dont want to be a no-social-life-and-fun-mugger pot-with humongous-unglam eyebags just when i finally got rid of them.

Schools should just start at a lovely 8.30 am lah. At least they can see a decrease in number of sleeping kids in class.
Or at least for me. However, that doesnt apply for Mrs Foo's lesson.

Her lessons are just hell boring and irritating. *opps*
I so appreciate Mdm Halilah's lessons now. Especially how she every time disturb Jestin and his height. I swear, her suan-ning skills are really up to standard. Also, I think Mdm Goo is SO much better than Mrs Foo. Geez... Why must I have such a Emaths teacher at Sec4. >:(

Back to the topic...

Next few weeks is going to be pure craziness. Thats studying, campcraft prelims and finals, mugging, youth anniversary band practices and hell load of tests all jumbled together. Final product would be a Joan up in smokes.

With my current marks, I dont think I can even make it for the Poly course I want to go. :(

Recently many people have been asking me which JC am I going after O levels should I get good marks, which is expected of me since I am in 4A liens (but i dont really consider myself as one).

The moment I tell them I want to go Poly, their jaws drop.
Normally when people get this reply, they would ask which course would you want to take right?
I've already thought through and am considering either Biomed or Design. BUT... the sad thing is...

HARDLY ANYONE ASKS ME THAT QUESTION.
They just go...
HUHHHH?! You triple science student want to go POLY? WHY?

Apparently most of them think that I am heading towards JC. Whats the most interesting thing that happens next is their reaction when I tell them the reason why.

"I just dont like waking up early lah"

Then you either see them fainting or they will take it as a joke.

But I really dont like waking up early lah. PLUS, Poly students have so many holidays lah! Like practically half the year is holiday? SHIOK SHIOK SHIOK sia. (:

Of course I'm not saying that JC doesnt have its pros lah. I mean, you only have to go crazy for two years while Poly is a nice shake-leg 3 years right? Plus you get to study beautiful chinese idioms and stress out on GP essays.

But the one thing i absolutely love about JCs are their orientations. I am not being sarcastic here. I think JC orientations are so cool lah. Especially things like their wacky games and mass dance. I was hoping that during PAE, I can get to play at some JC's orientation then during JAE, go Poly.

But guess what?
We dont even have PAE for a month.

And I just realized that this post is getting way too long.

Argh, so much for venting my anger and paranoia here. Gotta go back to my homework or else Mdm Nora is so going to use her Germ Theory on me when Monday comes.

So for now, this little germ will go do her homework and hopefully vent some of her anger on there instead. I think tearing paper is kinda therapeutic.

Ta-ta!

P.S...I'm putting my heart on the line

Stayed at home for the entire time today other than running some errands. Somehow it was a little weird to just laze around and watch j and kdramas. Something I cant do when school reopens. Muggerian's life starts then.

I'm so going to have a sad, social-less life.

Putting that aside, yesterday's promised post about the outing.
The weather sadly didnt really co-operate with us in the end. We (the 12 of us) met at Vivo, had lunch then headed for Sentosa when the rain stopped, well, at least for a good half an hour or so.

Guys started playing beach soccer topless (which was much to Yinglin's delight) then Ameera and Jinyi joined in.

Aiya. The one that go topless never go topless... ^ and below are some rather bimbotic shots of Meera...
Zul and his 6 pacs
JY and Benny look like they are dancing!

Almost everything was fun and well till.. it started to pour. Ran to the nearest shelter and played twister instead and I gotta admit that Siddiq sure is good at it. He had like the most awkward positions which some were pretty retarded and obscene. But of course, it would be someone's eye candy is she was there. *hints hints*

Brought out our cake-lookalike brownie and celebrated for Benny. Surprise surprise, he thought that the brownie was nice! (: Thanks to RJC for the recipe!

Spent almost an hour to decide where to have our dinner cause all of us had different opinions. Our initial intention to watch a movie was also scraped cause we wanted to watch different movies and all the timings were like 9+.

The outing (which left the 8 of us when we left Sentosa) pretty much ended while 5 of us went on to catch a Step Up 2 at Tiong Bahru. I wanted to watch The Leap Years cause according to many people, they said it was nice. Also because it was a Singapore made show, it wouldn't be online either. But oh well, Step Up 2 wasnt too bad either. The main actress, Briana Evigan is pretty hot and looks like Lindsay Lohan.

Also there was this cute guy that does super funny stuff called Moose.
The dance moves were really hot, especially the ones they did in the finale in the rain. Managed to find a vid of it.

Ivan ate almost all my food during the movie but I stole like half of his popcorn. Then whenever the cheena girl in the movie speaks, his laughter is the most prominent followed by Yongxi's cause his will lag by a couple of seconds. (:
Ivan's laughter is just so contagious lah. Cant help laughing when he laughs.

On the way back, I was telling Yinglin that in the past, I would never have thought that I would bond with the NP gang. Somehow I had the impression that they didnt have a life and whats up with all the enthusiasm for drills and stuff.

But I guess after getting in AND out of the campcraft team, I see a whole new side to it. Time spent with coolie, Ivan, Benny gang was always treasured and one of the most hilarious times. Of course, the girls are fun to hang out too but somehow, most of the fun happens when hanging out with the guys.

Not only the fun times but also I got to know alot more about the people (esp those are and were in campcraft team). Most of them are real fun to be with, especially the guys that crack all those black (inside) jokes. Great friends that I would have regretted much if I left campcraft. The girls have become much much closer and for all the tough and sad times, we have gone through together.

Of course, there is this group of people that would be simply irreplaceable in my life now. If it wasnt for them, I would have long left campcraft.

Some people thought that I would be mad with Yinglin cause she was the replacement for gadget when I was kicked out. I wont deny that initially I was pretty upset over it but well, I'm really glad someone like her took that place. Her lashings are good, and better than mine plus, she's my best friend. Must I say more? Plus I remember that in the beginning of campcraft trainings, I wanted to pon trainings but she kept encouraging me to stay on.

Another person would be Ivan. Interestingly enough, from the planning of December camp together till now, I got to know him so much better. I have to admit I had this really bad impression of him in Sec One when he was nightwalk partner. But he's actually a really nice guy though he doesnt want me to say that. He rather be a evil, cold and cruel ass. I would have left campcraft if it wasnt for him who encouraged me to stay on and even when I was kicked out.

Yongxi loves to hit my head when I suan him and Yinglin. But I'll forgive that coolie cause he has to listen to all my rantings when I'm down.

NP life sure is interesting after all. Now that trainings are once a week, motivation for me to go school will surely drop too. Gosh. I sound like a cca-freak. :S

Girls prelim next week! Cant wait. (:
